Wiyeta face Plateau in final as St. Athony, Ortum, Laiser Hill, Chemase in semifinal

Leiser Hill Academy will face off with St. Anthony’s Kitale on Friday morning in boys football semifinal match in the term 2B of Rift Valley Secondary Schools Sports Association (RVSSSA) as Wiyeta Girls meet Plateau in girls’ final at Kabarnet High school grounds.

Two converted penalties for Laiser Hill ensured that the Kajiado based team qualifies for semifinal match against Trans Nzoia’s football giants.

The Anthony Karimi charges beat Elgeyo Marakwet’s Simwoto Boys 2-0 to make it into top four ahead of national championships.

Within two minutes into the match, Richard Odanda converted a penalty before Musa Masika added the second on 65th minute to seal the victory for Karimi’s side.

“It was tough but we are determined to win the title and qualify for the National Championships,” said Kirimi.

Multiple national champions St Anthony humiliated Kabungut of Bomet 7-0 in their quarterfinal match having led Pool B with maximum nine points after they defeated Spotlight Academy 3-0 in their last preliminary match.

On their part, Spotlight had dismissed Olololunga 1-0 in their last preliminary match, thanks to a goal by Joseph Luchenga.

In another semifinal match Ortum from West Pokot will meet Chemase of Nandi county.

It will be an exciting match in girls final when former national champions Wiyeta face off with Plateau in final match.

Wiyeta from Trans Nzoia edged out Tartar girls in what was a final before a final match.

In the derby of counties of Trans Nzoia and West Pokot, Wiyeta beat Tartar by a single goal to book for a final match.

Wiyeta, which registered 100% wins in the games, beat AIC Kosirai in the 5-0 in the quarterfinal match.

In their last two group matches, Wiyeta thrashed Simotwo 8-0 and thereafter hammered Kilgoris of Narok 11-0.

However, Siwot cruised into the semifinals after they saw off Kilgoris of Narok 3-0.

In girls Volleyball, Trans Nzoia’s Kabuyefwe walloped Kerotet of Uasin Gishu ( 25-14, 25-17 and 25-17) in a match that lasted 61 minutes to sail into the finals where they face Cheptil of Nandi this morning.

Cheptil had dismissed Kaboson of Bomet 3-0 (25-18, 25-13 and 25-17) in the second semifinal clash.

In the boys Volleyball, Cheptil Boys dismissed Manor House of Trans Nzoia 3-1 (21–25, 25-23, 20-25 and 25-19) to romp into the finals.

They are facing Tuywo in the finals this morning who had defeated Chewoyet of West Pokot 3-2 (25-15, 25-23, 23-25, 22-25 and 15-9) in the second semifinal match.
